    STUDY TOUR FOR BANGLADESHI FARMERS' ORGANIZATION LEADERS TO THE PHILIPPINES

    IAPP TA organized a Study Tour for Bangladeshi Farmers’ Organization Leaders to the Philippines. The delegation visited PAKISAMA, a national farmers’ organization in the Philippines, in order to learn about their successes and challenges in federating at the national level. The tour took place from the 1st to the 7th of June 2013. The delegation consisted of 12 farmers’ organization leaders, a representative from the IAPP and the FAO facilitation team. Read More...

    NATIONAL FEDERATED FARMERS’ ORGANIZATION SHARING WORKSHOP

    IAPP TA organized a Federated Farmers’ Organization Sharing Workshop, which brought together representatives of organizations that were identified by the farmers’ organization mapping to have made progress towards sustainability and federation, in order to facilitate further development. 

    Participants wereleaders and facilitators of federated and/or mature farmers’ organizations (FOs), as well as the nascent Livelihood Field Schools of theIAPP. The workshop created a positive, forward momentum among the participating organizations. It served as a forum where they could share their experiences, learn from each other, and raise their concerns.     COSTAB/FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS TRAINING

    IAPP TA organized a training course in COSTAB and Financial and Economic Analysis. A total of 15 participants joined from different ministries and relevant departments. The training covered concepts and tools for project costing, particularly COTAB, as well as basic concepts of financial and economic analysis. Participants came from a variety of government organizations, including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, the Department of Agriculture Extension, the Department of Fisheries, the Economic Relations Division, the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division, the Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Institutions Division, the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation and the IAPP.     IAPP TA organized a Workshop on Project Cycle Management in partnership with IMA International and the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC). The workshop brought together mid-level government officials involved in different stages of the project cycle.It took place at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) campus inSavar.     MONITORING &EVALUATION KNOWLEDGE SHARING NETWORK

    Following the M&E course in July 2012, IAPP TA has facilitated the development of a Monitoring and Evaluation Knowledge Sharing Network within the Government. The network is active and meets regularly.The aim of the network is to improve monitoring and evaluation (M&E) within the government of Bangladesh by sharing best practices between M&E practitioners in different ministries and departments. The network currently has approximately 10 members and is looking to open up to other government officers. Read More...
