Launch of the Report "Farmers' Organizations in Bangladesh: A Mapping and Capacity Assessment"
The IAPP-TA project is excited to announce the launch of its report Farmers’ Organizations in Bangladesh: A Mapping and Capacity Assessment. The report gives a sense of the wide range of farmers’ organizations (FOs) in Bangladesh, including an assessment of their capacities and the environment in which they are operating. The report was written for those looking to work with FOs, strengthen their capacities, and engage them as partners.
The launch will take place on the 5th of March 2014 in the BARC Complex, Farmgate, Dhaka. During the morning session, we will share the findings of the report and open the floor for a candid exchange of feedback. There will be a more informal session in the afternoon during which participants will be able to network with individual FOs and discuss challenges and solutions to developing sustainable rural institutions. Please note that the morning session will take place in both English and Bangla with translation. The afternoon session will take place only in Bangla.
Dr. S M Nazmul Islam, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture has kindly consented to grace the occasion as the chief guest. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) & Mike Robson, FAO Representative in Bangladesh will be the special guests. The session will chaired by Mr. Md.
